Complimentary Estate Planning Evaluation

Why a Complimentary Estate Planning Evaluation at No Cost or Obligation?

Only by meeting in person can you know if we are the right law office for you.  And we need to find out if we can provide legal work of benefit to you and those you care about.

If you decide not to do anything more then there is no charge to you.

To make our time together as productive as possible we send you a confirmation letter and help you be prepared with some information about yourself to bring to your meeting.

What Can I Expect from my Complimentary Estate Planning Evaluation?

At your Complimentary Evaluation estate planning meeting, you and Mr. Ketron will discuss your specific goals and the best way to meet them.  He will look at your “big picture” and provide the combination of estate planning “tools” that is right for you.  Then you can decide what you want to do.

What is included in an estate plan?

A complete estate plan includes the following:

  • Family & Personal Instructions
  • Living Trust with Asset List (if appropriate)
  • Last Will & Testament
  • Durable Powers of Attorney for both Health Care and Finance
  • Conservator Nomination
  • Community Property Statement (if appropriate)
  • Documents to help you get started “funding” your trust

If I decide to hire Attorney Bruce Ketron for an estate plan, what happens next?

At the end of your Complimentary Evaluation, we’ll ask you for one-half of the retainer and schedule a time for you to return (about a week) to sign your estate plan documents.

What if I don’t want to go ahead with an estate plan?

We’ll thank you for coming in and you leave without paying a dime!

Am I done after I sign the documents?

You’re protected by your estate plan the moment you walk out the door. BUT there is still work to be done!

We’ll provide you with some documents to help you get started “funding” your trust. That means we’ll help you get started in the VERY IMPORTANT process of re-titling your assets to the name of your trust. We’ll handle the transfer of title for your home and other California real properties and explain how to transfer the rest of your assets. However it is your responsibility to change the title of ownership of all the other assets you own which are being assigned to the trust.

What if I need help afterward?

No problem. We’re available to answer any questions you may have about the documents or during the funding process.

How can I be sure I’ve done it correctly?

As part of the estate plan process, we’ll invite you to return about 6 weeks later for a follow-up appointment. At this follow-up appointment, you can check to ensure the assets are re-titled correctly and/or to ask any additional questions.
